Rev. Samuel Kahura Chege is a visionary leader, faith-based advocate, and community development strategist serving as the CEO, Founder, and Board Secretary of Cheer Up Program. He brings over 20 years of expertise in child protection, inclusive play, education, and sustainable development to the organization. Since founding the program as a small compassionate feeding initiative in Matathia, Kiambu County in 2004, he has steered the organization to impact over 400,000 lives and reach 800 communities.

At the governance level, Rev. Chege provides critical oversight, ensures strict compliance, and strengthens the institutional systems of the Cheer Up Program (CUP). He plays a central role in driving the organization’s thematic areas, particularly public health, youth and adolescent development, and digital content services. He heavily drives flagship community interventions supported by global partners like Terre des Hommes–Africa.

Simultaneously, Rev. Chege integrates spiritual care with psychosocial support as the Director of Youth for the Nairobi North Diocese under Christian Church International. An accomplished author of seven books, his background includes 15 years as Managing Editor for AIC Today in Africa Magazine. Under his leadership, CheerUp Kenya continues to champion resilient communities, ensuring every child and young mother receives the opportunity to thrive.
